A pro-life group in South Dakota filed a lawsuit to block an amendment enshrining abortion in the state constitution from appearing on the November ballot, claiming the initiative contained fraudulent signatures, it reported Associated Press.
South Dakota Secretary of State Monae Johnson approved the measure in May after having received the necessary number of signatures from supporters. Life Defense Fund filed a complaint Thursday alleging a number of issues, including that Dakotans for Health, which sponsored the amendment, failed to file an affidavit confirming the residency of the petitioners and that the petitioners mislead supporters about what they were signing up for. seconds in the PA.

The office of the South Dakota Secretary of State, Dakotans for Health and Life Defense Fund did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.
