The elderly Jewish man who died after a “physical altercation” at a pro-Israel rally in Thousand Oaks, California, was “pursued” by his attacker, according to his friend. The friend, Jonathan Oswaks, described to the Jewish Journal how the attack unfolded.
Around the start of the protest, Oswaks and Paul Kessler, the man identified as the dead victim of the Nov. 5 attack, met with friends who had arrived at the function with three flags: an Israeli , an Americana and the Gadsden Flag.
“Paul insisted on holding the Israeli flag. I asked him at least three times to give it to me. Paul was much smaller than me. … I was proud to hold that flag against the giant,” Oswaks recalled Jewish newspaper.

At this point, Oswaks noticed that a group of pro-Palestinian protesters were setting up a public address system that would be used to chant anti-Israel slogans.
“Oswaks told Kessler that ‘it will be better for them to see us if we split up,’ so Oswaks decided to go to the other side corner; Oswaks again asked Kessler to give him the Israeli flag, but Kessler insist that he continue to support her,” notes the Journal.
That’s when a pro-Palestinian man who had been recording them decided to stand behind Oswaks with a megaphone to his ear, prompting him to tell the person to “get the damn thing off me of the ear, back up!”
Fortunately, the man complied, but only temporarily.
“He crossed the street because, as I said, he chased us. He got nowhere with the older guy, so he went for the younger guy. He came [there] megaphone in hand to do the same,” Oswaks recalled.
“Then all of a sudden I see a punch. The reason I know I could see the punch was because it was the white megaphone flying through the air,” he added.
The “blow” — a megaphone that hit Kessler in the face — sent the 69-year-old man falling backwards and suffering significant head injuries that led to his death Monday at a nearby hospital.
The assailant has since been identified as Loay Alnaji, 50, a computer science professor at Moorpark College. His home was raided on Sunday evening, according to the Daily Mail.
Los Angeles Area: A professional Hamas video has been discovered on the Instagram feed of Loay Alnaji, the college professor who hit Jewish individual Paul Kessler in the face with a megaphone, eventually killing him.

“My husband was coming home from Costco when he saw a SWAT team, six police officers with rifles and full gear. Their vehicles were not police cars, they were not marked,” Alnaji’s neighbor told the Daily Mail.
“It’s shocking. As a resident of Moorpark, I don’t like it when anything happens here, as we are known as one of the safest cities,” the neighbor added.
How radical is Alnaji? So much so that he allegedly posted a video online of a pro-Palestinian activist, Shahid King Bolsen, comparing the murderous terrorist group Hamas to historic civil rights icons.
“If someone asked me to condemn Hamas, I would say: what’s the rush? Let history decide. You condemned Nelson Mandela until you didn’t, until he was a hero. You condemned Mahatma Gandhi until you didn’t . Let’s wait and see, because you can change your mind on this one, too,” Bolsen said in the video.

As for Bolsen, the Daily Mail notes that he is “a 52-year-old American Catholic convert to Islam who was sentenced to death in Dubai for murder.”
“The court later reduced his sentence to involuntary manslaughter and he was released after paying restitution to the victim’s family, the New York Times reported in 2015,” the Daily Mail report continues.
Since then, he has reportedly been accused of inciting violence against Americans and American companies in Egypt.
Back to Alnaji, he had also posted pro-Palestinian messages in Arabic on Facebook.
“O Allah, release the captivity of Al-Aqsa Mosque… Sooner than soon… O Allah, do not deprive us of praying there before we die… O God, give victory to the your weak servants in Palestine, and everywhere… O Allah, bind their hearts with the bond of patience and faith,” he wrote in a post.
