Mount Pleasant, SC – A brave South Carolina man showed unwavering courage as he defended his beloved Chihuahua from a vicious coyote attack over the weekend. Caught on video, this heart-stopping incident has left the local community in awe of his heroism.

Mount Pleasant resident Timothy Snipe found himself in a life-or-death situation when a coyote targeted his furry little companion, Roxie. Snipe, still in his red bathrobe, had let Roxie out for a bathroom break in the securely fenced yard on Saturday morning.

In a surprising turn of events, Roxie's barking alerted Snipe to impending danger. Without hesitation, he rushed to her aid, only to find the coyote trying to break through the fence in its relentless pursuit of his little dog. Swiftly and fearlessly, Snipe confronted the aggressive predator.

“The coyote jumped on me and bit me on the leg, and I fought back; I suffocated him,” Snipe later explained, demonstrating his fierce determination to protect his furry family member.

Miraculously caught on security video, the footage reveals Snipe's brave act of lifting the coyote by the tail and carrying it to the backyard garbage can. With exceptional resolve, he dropped the coyote inside and secured the top, making sure it couldn't escape. Despite the inherent risk involved, Snipe managed to subdue the wild animal without sustaining any life-threatening injuries.

Understanding the potential dangers posed by a potentially rabid coyote, Snipe quickly notified the appropriate authorities. He responsibly shot the animal and took it to the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control for further examination.

In a show of unwavering love and dedication, Snipe proved that his beloved chihuahua, Roxie, is not just a pet, but an integral part of his family. When asked if his efforts were worth it, Snipe replied emphatically, “Absolutely. Roxie is part of my family. I would do anything to protect her.”

As a precaution, Roxie will now wear a specialized coyote vest, equipped with protective spikes, during her outdoor excursions to deter potential threats.

Snipe's bravery and quick response to this heartbreaking situation have inspired the local community, serving as a testament to the enduring bond between humans and their faithful animal companions. With test results coming from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, Snipe is hopeful that he won't need to undergo further medical treatment for possible rabies exposure, while the entire community waits the result with the breath.
