Sheriff Chad Chronister condemned Pedroso's actions, stating, “Using social media to weaponize our youth is absolutely deplorable. As a parent, I cannot understand what went through this woman's mind when she put her his life to cause this chaos.”

Some of Pedroso's statements were included in the HCSO Press release:

  • “To all of you, if you're still going up there, get the hell out of them. I've got some money for you all and I'll pay your asses.”
  • “I hope everyone still shows up and rips this bitch off tomorrow.”
  • “Make cookies work.”
  • “Stress the hell out of them.”
  • “Shit, we should still go to Astro.”

Investigators found that Pedroso had organized an “after-hours birthday party” for his daughter at Astro Skate, but failed to comply with required safety provisions.

After the venue canceled the booking and issued a refund, Pedroso took to social media to urge friends to engage in violent behavior near Astro Skate.

The live stream captured Pedroso making multiple violent and vulgar statements as well as racial slurs.

Once on the scene, it took officers nearly six hours to contain the behavior that resulted in one person being injured and five local businesses suffering damage.

Deputies arrested 23 minors and three adults for their involvement in the escalating chaos at the scene.

Sheriff Chronister stressed the importance of responsible behavior and the consequences of inciting violence, saying: “Using social media to encourage people to riot and destroy businesses is completely unacceptable, and we will not tolerate it here in Hillsborough County.”
