A mass shooting in Indianola, Miss., has left three young people dead and 16 others injured, Mayor Ken Featherstone said in FOX13.

According to Mayor Featherstone, the shooting happened on Church Street shortly after midnight on Sunday.
The victims of this senseless act of violence were three 19-year-old men who lost their lives, while a total of 16 people were injured by direct gunfire or ricocheting bullets, Mayor Featherstone confirmed.
Seconds Sunflower County Coroner Heather Burton said the victims killed in this incident include Areon Butler, Cameron Lee Burts and Marquette Baites.
As the community grapples with this violent event, Mayor Featherstone stressed that the motive for the shooting remains unknown, with no arrests made at this time.
“Please keep the bereaved families in your prayers,” urged Mayor Featherstone in a statement, highlighting the dark and difficult times facing families affected by this violence.
