House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) dropped a subtle hint that Democrats may not certify the November election if former President Donald Trump is re-elected.
The Democratic leader was responding to a biased question from CNN anchor Jake Tapper during an appearance on Sunday State of the Union when he talked about stopping Trump from taking control of the US government
Tapper asked Jeffries whether a Republican-led House would vote against certifying the results of the presidential election if Kamala Harris prevailed: the CNN anchor who regurgitates Democratic talking points to imply that Trump is beginning to accept the his inevitable defeat.
“Donald Trump and his allies are already starting to lay the groundwork to contest the election results in November,” Tapper said. “Are you sure a Republican-led House will certify the 2024 election in January?”

“I'm sure we're going to do everything we have to do over the next few months to make sure that the Democrats in the House get the majority back so that the American people don't have to face this question,” Jeffries responded.
“It is a reality that many of my extreme MAGA Republican colleagues in the House have engaged in election denial, conspiracy theories, and attempted to undermine the very fabric of our democracy and the peaceful transfer of power. This is what Project 2025 is all about. “Republicans want total control over the lives of the American people, total control over our government and total control over our democracy. And we have to prevent that from happening.”
Tapper sat idle as the Democratic leader peddled his misinformation about Project 2025, which is essentially a wish list from a conservative think tank — Trump has distanced himself from the initiative that Democrats and their allies media choose to smear the Republican candidate.
As noted on social media, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) has already raised the possibility that Congress will not certify Trump if he wins, based on the myth that Trump was involved in an insurgency.
Raskin has already stated that they would refuse to certify the election if President Trump wins.

A clip came to the surface from Raskin discussing the Supreme Court's “imminent abdication of its very clear duty to disqualify Donald Trump from the ballot, under Section Three of the 14th Amendment.”
“And what that might mean, if his decision says it's really up to Congress, on January 5th or January 6th, 2025, to disqualify him in the electoral college vote count,” Raskin added. “That it could actually lead to something. Civil War. If that's what the suggestion is. That's what I think I heard. When I went to oral argument.”
