Dems dish out $79 million in attack ads targeting Republicans vying for battleground Senate seats

The Democratic Senate Campaign Committee (DSCC) spent tens of millions of dollars on an advertising blitz Wednesday targeting GOP Senate candidates in four key battleground states, according to Politico.

The DSCC has pledged $79 million against Republican Senate candidate Kari Lake ArizonaEric Hovde a WisconsinDave McCormick a pennsylvaniaand Mike Rogers a MichiganPolitician reported. Democrats are polling narrowly ahead of their Republican rivals in their respective swing states, with many races polling within single digits of each other, seconds at FiveThirtyEight.

The NRSC has launched its own $100 million ad campaign targeting Ohio, Nevada, Michigan and Arizona races, with first attack ads falling today in the Great Lakes State.

“Democrats will adopt a strategy of lying about Republican Senate candidates because they can't defend their support of Kamala Harris' plan to decriminalize border crossings, defund the police and destroy our economy with a new multi-trillion dollar green scam .” NRSC Communications Director Mike Berg told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

The DSCC announcement guidance lake features the candidate telling “McCain Republicans” to “get the hell out of here,” claiming she's “too divisive for Arizona.” The ad describes her “divisive policies” such as the abortion ban and claims she is endorsed by “white supremacists and Holocaust deniers”.

Lake is battling Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego for the open Senate seat left by independent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema announced his retirement in March. Lake trails Gallego by just six points, seconds in a survey by Redfield & Wilton Strategies on Tuesday.

The Wisconsin ad attacks Hovde as a “billionaire banker from California” and labels him an “arrogant, bogus fraud” who is running to “buy a senate seat.” none is running to unseat Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin and is trailing the incumbent by 11 points, seconds in the latest Fox News poll from July 26.

The DSCC ran two ads in Pennsylvania with the first guidance McCormick to say he would be “very, very happy” to see Roe v. The second criticized the leadership of “Wall Street CEO” McCormick at Bridgewater Associates, which later became the main foreign hedge fund in China to boost its military.

McCormick is running to unseat Democratic Sen. Bob Casey and currently trails the incumbent by just five points, seconds in a survey by Redfield & Wilton Strategies on Tuesday.

The Michigan ad tags Rogers as a man “bought by special interests” like Big Pharma and Wall Street during his congressional career. Rogerswho won her primary on Tuesday, will now face Democratic Rep. Elissa Slotkin to replace retiring Democratic Sen. Debbie Stabenow.
