trump campaign adviser Jason Miller said former President Trump would debate the eventual Democratic presidential nominee, but is skeptical that he would Vice President Harris.
“We think the Democrats have to choose who their final nominee is going to be,” Miller said when asked if Trump would debate Harris.
President Biden announced last week that he would drop out of the presidential race, endorsing his vice president, Kamala Harris, as the next Democratic Party nominee. Harris, the presumptive nominee, has yet to officially win her party's nomination.
“This must be formalized before going to close all the debates,” he said.
When pressed on the subject by MSNBC host Chris Jansing, Miller said that Democratic Party He recently decided to rally behind Harris.
“Wait, we have to make sure the Democrats go through and lock up Kamala Harris,” he said. “Just a month ago, a lot of Democrats who wanted to throw Joe Biden overboard were saying, 'We have to go to this mini-primary.' We have to go with someone other than Kamala Harris.”
“It's only been in the last week that there's been any sort of effort to rally around Kamala Harris,” Miller said. “In fact, the same people who said Joe Biden was fine are the same people who are now saying we need to get behind Harris.”
TRUMP IS QUICK TO CALL HARRIS 'MORE LEFT THAN BERNIE SANDERS'
“Fourteen million Democrats voted for Joe Biden in this primary system,” Miller said. “And now all those voters are going to be told that this is invalid.”
“Will Donald Trump Debate Kamala Harris?” Jansing asked Miller.
“Of course we're going to debate the Democratic nominee,” Miller said. “If this is Kamala Harris, once it happens and this is formalized.”
“I think the date we're looking at is August 7,” he said.
Harris, the presumptive Democratic nominee, has already raised more than $200 million in fundraising for her campaign.
In a statement, the campaign touted what they called a “record-breaking haul” and noted that two-thirds of the contributions came from early donors, which they argued was “further proof of the tremendous grassroots support for Vice President. “
Trump and Harris campaign officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment Fox News Digital.
