Former NFL star Jacoby Jones he died on his to sleep Sunday at his Houston residence.
The athlete, who celebrated his 40th birthday just days earlier, left behind a legacy that will be fondly remembered by fans and fellow players alike.

Originally drafted in the third round out of Lane College in 2007, he showcased his exceptional skills not only as a quality receiver, but also as a dynamic return specialist, setting franchise records for punt return yards, touchdowns and all-purpose yards .
While with the Texans, Jones showed his versatility on the field, amassing 203 catches for 2,733 yards and 14 touchdown receptions.
His contributions extended beyond Houston as he also played for the Ravens, Steelers and Chargers before retiring from the league in 2017.
A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Jones reached new heights with the Ravens, playing a pivotal role in their Super Bowl XLVII victory against the San Francisco 49ers in 2013. His historic 109-yard punt return for a touchdown remains unmatched as the longest play. in Super Bowl history.

Jones also made a memorable impact during the game by catching a 56-yard touchdown pass from Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco, cementing his place in NFL history as the first player to catch both a receiving touchdown like a punt return in the Super Bowl itself.
Throughout his career, Jones displayed his exceptional talent, finishing with impressive statistics of 203 receptions for 2,733 yards and 14 touchdowns. His impact on special teams was equally notable, recording 7,628 return yards and nine touchdowns.
Beyond the gridiron, Jones captivated audiences with her charm and agility on the dance floor, earning recognition as a finalist on the popular television show “Dancing with the Stars” during Season 16.
