Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) is feeling the heat from conservative circles for a fight after calling attention to President Biden's opposition to a bill that would bar illegal aliens from voting.
Known as the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, or the SAVE Act, the bill would amend the National Voter Registration Act and require proof of citizenship before registering to vote. It would also remove non-citizens from voter rolls.
“It is already illegal for non-citizens to vote in federal elections; it is a federal crime punishable by jail time and fines,” the White House said in a statement Monday. “The purported justification for this bill is based on easily debunked falsehoods.”
“States already have effective safeguards in place to verify voter eligibility and maintain the accuracy of voter rolls,” the statement continued. “This bill would do nothing to safeguard our elections, but it would make it much more difficult for all eligible Americans to register to vote and increase the risk that eligible voters would be purged from the voter rolls. The evidence is clear that current laws to prevent non-citizens from voting work as intended: it is extraordinarily rare for non-citizens to break the law by voting in federal elections.”
Spokesman Johnson shared the White House's statement on X, adding: “It should alarm all American citizens that the sitting president of the United States, who has opened our border to more than 9 million of illegals, he just announced that he would veto our bill to prevent non-citizens from voting”.

In a separate post, Johnson went further: “Why are Democrats so adamantly against ensuring that only American citizens vote in our elections? They want to turn illegal aliens into voters. We have to pass the SAVE Act to prevent that.”
After all, it's the same old song and dance of the Democratic Party, which wants our elections to be as open as our borders, with few checks to govern who actually votes. The media reliably sides with it, proclaiming that illegal voting is few and far between.
Billionaire Elon Musk shared Johnson's post on X, the social media platform he now owns. He also agreed with an assessment by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxon.
“The White House has formally announced that Biden will veto the Republican bill that seeks to prevent non-citizens from voting,” Paxon said. “Now don't hide it. Biden and the Democrats want illegal immigrants to vote in this November's elections. Our elections are NOT safe from massive interference as long as states don't require proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections”.

Musk had a lot more to share when it comes to America's election process.
“When combined with mail-in ballots, the system is *designed* to make it impossible to prove fraud,” he posted. “Mail-in and drop-box ballots should not be allowed, as cameras at in-person polling places would at least prevent large-scale fraud by counting how many people showed up versus the ballots cast.”
In another post, Musk wrote: “Electronic voting machines and anything by mail is too risky. We should mandate paper ballots and in-person voting only.”

There is a lot of skepticism in America about how fair and accurate our elections are, and while Musk's suggestions would produce more reliable results, the left would rather burn this country to the ground than allow much-needed election reform.
In this regard, Republicans have shown much less passion for righting the ship, certainly not the same passion they show for funding a foreign war in Ukraine.
Mike, you really shouldn't be posting this on X… You had the opportunity 6 months ago to close the border, but you didn't. It makes you look like a hypocrite.
You chose Ukraine and all of America saw.

It should also alarm all American citizens that the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives has not announced that he will use the upcoming spending bill as leverage to ensure that the contents of the SAVE Act become law .
The president is more concerned about Ukraine,…

You gave all the money to Ukraine. No leverage. Why didn't you demand this before releasing the money from money laundering? Everything shows. Another fake Christian. so tired

What are you going to do about it? A loud tweet won't do anything. They're all turning into voters as we speak: https://t.co/0bTcxCeuwc
