Nike seems to have forgotten about the WNBA in a now-deleted tweet.
Late Thursday night, the sportswear giant tweeted, “And that's it… a week without hoops 🤪” after the Mavericks advanced to the NBA Finals.

The tweet clearly referred to the hiatus of men's professional basketball until the Celtics and Mavericks face off in the NBA Finals, which begin on June 6. However, Nike completely ignored the ongoing WNBA season, a league in which they invest heavily. The WNBA has had a season like no other with the addition of Caitlin Clark and several sensational stars through the 2024 WNBA Draft.
The tweet was eventually removed by Nike after realizing its mistake and receiving intense backlash from people on social media.
