There’s a list of reasons why the Grand Ol’ Party has been rocking. First, we often find ourselves electing RINOs who work against our conservative values. However, it is not entirely our fault. In many cases, we are forced to choose from a pool of second-string candidates, courtesy of the RNC, led by RINO lover Ronna McDaniel. The ugly truth is that the GOP has more in common with the left than the America First movement.
To make matters worse, the irrational hatred directed at President Trump has led to internal party chaos, not only within the GOP but throughout the US government. We are watching all our institutions crash and burn because the powers that be don’t want an outsider infiltrating their ranks. However, all that being said, one of the most serious problems facing the Republican Party actually comes from the disastrous donor class. It’s actually surreal to see how out of touch the right-wing political elites seem to be with everyday Americans. His recent delusions about establishment figure Nikki Haley highlight his disconnect and, frankly, his downright insanity. These clueless buffoons are so desperate for “anyone but Trump” that they have convinced themselves that an even less popular politician than Ron DeSantis can defeat President Trump.
It’s amazing how people who are so rich and so smart when it comes to business or finance are no smarter than you or me when it comes to politics.
As Nikki Haley has risen in the polls, so has her viability among major political donors, according to The Times.
Some donors describe Haley’s candidacy as one that is creating excitement among party leaders.
GOP donor Eric Levine told The Times that Trump’s air of inevitability has been “completely blown away.”
A few heavy political elites appreciate Nikki Haley’s warmongering and globalist style, but the vast majority of the base cannot stand her. That’s not exactly a “winning recipe,” is it?
“It’s exhilarating to be really excited about a candidate again,” said Jonathan Bush, the chief executive of a health data startup and cousin of former President George W. Bush. She hosted a virtual fundraiser for Ms. Haley in early November.
These days, having the last name “Bush” is akin to political suicide. While they may still have some influence with some old-school political dinosaurs, they are public enemy number one among the America First base.
Bush, a relative of former President George W. Bush, held an online fundraiser for Haley earlier this month. The health-tech executive previously backed former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson’s Libertarian presidential bid in 2016 and Biden’s 2020 bid.
But he was taken by Haley’s dominance of the issues and what he told The Times was “an electric energy” around her candidacy.
Indeed, it is laughable that these Trump haters believe that Nikki Haley, a woman who embodies antiquated establishment politics, has any chance of beating the most popular modern political figure of our time, let alone “the energy electric”. The Business Insider piece concludes:
Eric Levine, a GOP donor who previously supported Sen. Tim Scott’s presidential campaign, will now co-host a fundraiser for Haley next month and told The Times that many people now believe Trump’s nomination “can be stopped”.
According to The Times, Haley has impressed a number of business leaders, including JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon, with her policy savvy.
Being impressed with Nikki Haley’s “political savvy” is a red flashing indicator that there is something wrong with political instincts.
The reality of the situation is that GOP donors are wasting their money because they just aren’t that smart when it comes to policy, despite their success in other endeavors. Thus, they are constantly willing to indulge in illusions and fantasies that lead them to throw millions of dollars at the politicians they fall in love with, those who tickle their leg, so to speak. Ron DeSantis is highly unlikely to be the nominee, and as much as GOP donors want him to be, neither is Nikki Haley.
