The Israeli president describes the pro-Hamas protesters as “accomplices” of the terrorist organization

-

Israeli President Isaac Herzog did not mince words in describing the “darkness” of terrorists attacking Israel and called protesters who support Hamas “complicit” in the atrocities.

“It’s a defining moment in the destiny of world affairs,” Herzog told Fox News host Sandra Smith on Monday while discussing the latest developments in Israel’s war with Hamas terrorists.

“Because we are facing a coalition of hate, a coalition of, I call it darkness, which is a jihadist coalition emanating from Tehran, which, with its representatives in Lebanon, in Gaza, of course Hamas, in Yemen with the Houthis and of course, spreading Islamic fundamentalist jihadism throughout the world, which wants to wipe them all out, all of us,” Herzog continued.

The former opposition leader and Labor Party leader recently wrote to US university presidents about the need to tackle and control the anti-Semitism that has spread to campuses across the country. As he continued his interview with Smith, Herzog referenced the anti-Israel protests and those who openly support the Islamist militant group Hamas.

“If Israel was not there, then Europe will be next and the United States and surely the next, because they call the United States the Great Satan,” he said.

“And that’s why I think the protesters who support Hamas there, they’re actually complicit in the whole idea that you can kill little children, that you can behead women, that you can rape women and pregnant women , that you can kidnap Holocaust survivors in their old age and you can do a lot of atrocities,” he continued. “And since you basically support Hamas, that’s what they’ve done.”

Herzog recounted “an immensely moving meeting” with families of more than 40 children, some as young as 10 months old, who are being held hostage by Hamas in Gaza.

“This is what these protesters are supporting. None of them, today is International Children’s Day. I repeat, today is International Children’s Day, where are all these protesters? Are they calling for the immediate release of these children, let alone the entire group of hostages and all those who have been through the treacherous, horrific and barbaric attack on October 7th? he demanded.

Smith asked the Israeli president about the current negotiations to secure the release of the hostages.

“Biden officials say this hostage deal is closer than it has ever been, including negotiations with US, Israeli and Qatari officials that dozens of hostages could be freed out of the 240 in the next days. What else can you tell us about it right now?” she asked.

“Not much really, because we’re all waiting and dealing on the opposite side with the leadership of Hamas, led by Yahya Sinwar, who is basically a psychopath in the way he operates,” Herzog replied, referring to the leader of Hamas. political wing in Gaza.

“So I don’t think anything you and I can say really changes the picture,” the president added.

“We are just waiting for what is the basic humanitarian act, which is to release the children and the women and of course the other hostages. Now we have learned that two hostages were killed, killed in Gaza. We have reported this in the last few days,” he said.
