A Florida woman who had been missing for more than a week has been found dead inside a storage unit. The victim, identified as Shakeira Rucker, 37, was last seen on Nov. 11 leaving her home with her husband, Cory Hill.
Authorities quickly named Hill a person of interest in the case, and he was later arrested on unrelated attempted murder charges. However, Hill has refused to cooperate with investigators and has not been charged in connection with Rucker’s death.
Rucker’s body was discovered Saturday inside a storage unit in Apopka, Florida, after someone complained of an odor coming from the unit. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the discovery and expressed its condolences to Rucker’s family.
The investigation into Rucker’s death is ongoing, and Orange County Sheriff John Mina is expected to provide more details during a news conference scheduled for Sunday.
