New York City Mayor Eric Adams left a series of immigration-related White House meetings early to return to NYC shortly after arriving in Washington, D.C., due to the fact that federal agents had raided the home of his most prominent fundraiser.

On Thursday morning, Brianna Suggs, a close consultant whose business has received over $150,000 from the mayor’s campaign team since 2021, had her Brooklyn residence busted into by federal officials.

According to campaign finance filings, Suggs has also received more than $16,500 in personal payments from Adams’ accounts.
Property records show that her business, Suggs Solutions, LLC, is registered to a family-owned brownstone located at 929 Lincoln Place in Crown Heights.
“I heard screaming maybe two or three hours ago,” a neighbor of hers told reporters. “I heard helicopters (also)… the house is boarded up.”
Additionally, city documents indicated that Suggs receives monthly payments from Adams’s political campaigns.
On Thursday afternoon, it was still unclear who would be representing Suggs as her legal defense.
Adams’ scheduled meetings in Washington, D.C., were reportedly meant to function as a forum for discussing the expanding immigration crisis that has engulfed New York City.
A representative at City Hall directed questions to Vito Pitta, Adams’s 2021 campaign attorney.
“The campaign has always held itself to the highest standards,” said Pitta. “The campaign will, of course, comply with any inquiries as appropriate.”
