There aren’t many who can go toe-to-toe with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) when it comes to talking politics.
A graduate of Yale University and Harvard Law, the former U.S. Navy JAG officer gets hammered by trivial matters like his height or whether he wears risers in his trademark boots, the latter of which is a rumor that comes to life in the dark corners of the world. web.
Not afraid to sit down with anyone, DeSantis was interviewed by podcaster Patrick Bet-David, who chose to highlight footage from a viral Tik Tok video that claimed DeSantis was “wearing hidden heels” inside his boots, with badly fabricated photos to allegedly corroborate the accusation.
“I saw you walking in these boots. Go ahead and play this clip,” Bet-David said, instructing his producer to run the video. “This on TikTok went viral. It doesn’t have a million views. It doesn’t have, you know, 10 million views. This thing has 1.2 million likes. And there are people who wonder…”
DeSantis responded nonchalantly saying he hadn’t seen the video
“No, no, they’re just off-the-rack standard, Lucchese,” DeSantis replied, naming a popular brand of cowboy boots. pic.twitter.com/BwjMsP2VAn

“They didn’t show you that, okay,” the podcast host replied. “What they’re trying to say with that is, in your boots, you have heels.”
“No, no, they’re just off-the-rack standard, Lucchese,” the GOP presidential candidate responded, naming a popular brand of cowboy boots.
This caused Beth-David to ask, “How tall are you, Governor? How tall are you?”
When DeSantis told him he was five eleven, Bet-David asked, “Why don’t you wear tennis shoes and dress shoes?”
“I wear tennis shoes when I work out,” DeSantis told her.
Bet-David responded to this with a stunt that many saw as an attempt to help Donald Trump, taking out a shoebox and presenting it to his gift.
Smart by half, DeSantis shut down Bet-David’s shenanigans by saying, “I don’t accept gifts. I can’t accept it.”
Putting it all into perspective, DeSantis added, “And so what we’re doing is, I really think that making the issues, the leadership, the people who are looking at you for different things. That’s fine, but ultimately not it is, I think it’s a sign of strength.”
