Women on TikTok are now trying to paint themselves as persecuted “supermoms” and “martyrs”…

Setting up a great image for social media is no small feat, right? Between setting up the tripod, adjusting the lighting, and experimenting with camera angles, it’s a lot of work. Now imagine doing all this, not for fun or creativity, but to present yourself as a haunted supermom. This is the latest trend among some women on TikTok. Not only do these “Martyr Moms” have all this free time to organize daily tasks for social media clicks, but they also manage to make their husbands look like jerks in the process.

Take, for example, this TikTok mom who captures a chaotic kitchen scene complete with pancake batter and scantily clad toddlers. We’re supposed to pretend Mom didn’t meticulously set up her camera near the Bisquick before sighing theatrically and making faces of exasperation as she flips her pancakes. Meanwhile, her “jerk” husband rests comfortably in another room while she presents herself as a tireless, long-suffering superhero, all for the sake of a stack of flapjacks. Women are definitely getting creative with attacking men, that’s for sure. As conservative blogger Matt Walsh puts it, this kind of “martyr complex” is deadly to a marriage.

Later, Matt aptly states, “Imagine thinking you’re some kind of haunted super mom when all you did was make pancakes for dinner.” We couldn’t agree more. Nothing undermines a family more than when someone presents themselves as a martyr. For all we know, Dad might have just finished a 12-hour workday and needed a moment to relax. But honestly, the details of this family’s personal dynamics shouldn’t be displayed online for likes and views. Shame on any spouse or parent who would stoop to such pathetic levels for the influence of TikTok at the expense of their family’s dignity.
