Ex-FBI agent at forefront of Trump-Russia probe slams Durham after blockbuster report

Former FBI agent Peter Strzok, who was named in special counsel John Durham’s report released Monday, has criticized the findings, arguing they showed “bias” and should never have been made.

Durham’s 316-page report, which followed a four-year investigation, concluded that the FBI’s investigation into possible Russian collusion with Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign lacked rigorous analysis, showed a bias of confirmation and relied too much on information from individuals connected to political opponents.

However, Strzok maintained during an appearance on MSNBC’s “The ReidOut” that the Durham investigation “turned up nothing” and should never have been started in the first place.

“This is an expected and disappointing result for an investigation that had no reason to begin. Soon after [Durham] was appointed in 2019, publicly stated as prosecutor that he disagreed with IG Horowitz’s conclusion that the investigation was properly launched. From then on, he spent the next three or four years with a biased perspective, trying to build a case to support his preconceived beliefs. Today we witnessed the result, which clearly demonstrates their failure to discover anything substantial,” Strzok said.

“First of all, the initial complaint was extraordinarily serious. Perhaps he was a threat to the national security of the United States, and he absolutely deserved to open a full investigation. And the IG found it to be correct and in accordance with the DOJ and FBI regulations and finally, after years of independent investigation, found that there was no testimonial or documentary evidence that anyone acted with bias or inappropriateness,” Strzok said.

“So it was worth opening. I agreed to open it. I wrote the inaugural EC. It absolutely should have been opened and the proof of that, again, is looking at all those people who were found guilty in the course of Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation,” he continued.

Peter Strzok is quoted numerous times in the Durham Report, including his embarrassing love interest texts and the Department of Justice. attorney Lisa Page.

“The record reviewed by the Bureau demonstrated a fairly clear willingness on the part of at least certain FBI personnel at the center of Crossfire Hurricane to open an investigation of Trump. In the Durham Report, it is stated: “FBI records prepared by [Peter] Strzok in February and March 2017 show that at the time Crossfire Hurricane opened, the FBI had no information in its files indicating that at any time during the campaign anyone from the Trump campaign had been in contact with a Russian intelligence officer.
