After three failed attempts to elect a Speaker, the House of Representatives adjourns until noon tomorrow

The House of Representatives did not elect a Speaker of the House through three rounds of voting. About 20 members of the Republican conference will not vote for Kevin McCarthy, resulting in a stalemate. The Republican caucus requested the adjournment until noon tomorrow, Wednesday, January 4th.

Basically, Kevin McCarthy needs to: (1) step aside and accept that he’s not going to be president, or (2) keep voting in the useless House, or (3) find a way to convince Republican rebels to support him.

“You’re not interested Kevin”…

This has happened before, but not in the modern political era. The resisters want Jim Jordan to accept the presidency.

Don’t freak out, worry, or get too attached to any outcome. This is simply the way our system was designed.
