A 12-year-old boy died at a California water park after a “medical-related incident.” The Irvine Police Department and local firefighters were called to Wild Rivers Water Park in Irvine, California on Saturday afternoon. Reports indicate that a young child required medical attention while at the park. The child was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

A spokesman for Wild Rivers confirmed the death, saying “the non-water-related, but medical-related incident” led to the boy's death. The park team and emergency services worked together to deal with the situation, but sadly the boy later died in hospital.
Wild Rivers is known as California's premier water park, featuring over 20 water slides, including thrill rides, a wave pool, and a lazy river. The park initially opened in July 1986 and recently reopened in 2022 after expanding its offerings.
The Irvine Police Department has not released further information about the incident.
